Models were selected through question and answer sessions; each was given approximately 10 minutes. After that there was a catwalk session.
The questions covered various topics which comprised of economic, social and academic questions. The models gave different answers and views. They possessed different levels of confidence to the objective judges.
Models had the opportunity to present their skills and talents such as singing and poetry reciting during the auditions.
The models consisted of young women who displayed the potential to become super models. The models varied from young women who are at varsity, in the working system and various fields.
Speaking to Showbiz, Miss Africa Botswana chief judge Motlalekgosi said,

She said the selecting criteria included level of confidence displayed by the models, and vast knowledge about the country.
The number of models to contest in the finals will be reduced to 30, and Motlalekgosi said the number will be reduced further through an elimination proess after assessing the selected models.
“We will also assess the models by watching videos that were being shot during the auditions.”
Overall, she said the level of intelligence and presentation possessed by the models was impressive.
The winner of Miss Africa Botswana will contest in the finals that will be held in Botswana next year.
The auditions were held in 10 different cities and towns around the country. The next stage after the auditions is the boot camp in which the selected models will undergo training and consultations.
