Riot in Senegal

NEW AFRICA DAILY NEWS, Banjul, The Gambia- The Senegalese riot police Friday afternoon fired tear gas on a crowd of protesters in the capital –DAKAR and detained more than 20 over a BBC report which emerged about a week ago and sent a state of disorder over an allegation of a Gas deal linked with president Macky Sall ‘s brother ALIOU SALL and his involvement on a fraud related off shores gas blocks deal to be develop by BP- PLC.
The protest was said to be peaceful called by the opposition for the purpose of clarity and justice over reports of the president ‘s brother involvement on two off shore gas blocks.
Based in a separate BBC report, BRITISH PETROLEUM had agreed to pay TIMIS CO-OPERATION , a firm run by a ROMANIAN business tycoon FRANK TIMIS about $10 billion in royalty payment for a stake in the two blocks . The reports further stated that , based on the documents reviewed , a secret payment of $250,000 was already made by FRANK TIMIS to a company run by the President Macky Sall ‘s brother. Claims he denied and describe the report as false.
