NEW AFRICA DAILY NEWS (NADN) Freetown, Sierra Leone– Attending followers at a campaign rally in Wa East, Dr Bawumia underscored the integral function of agribusiness in providing food security and affordability in Ghana.

“Farming is pivotal to reducing food prices,” Dr. Bawumia stated, underscoring his pledge to equip farmers with the necessary tools and resources to enhance yields.

Describing in relation to Ghana’s maize yield unfavorably to Brazil and China, where agriculturalists attain enormously higher productivity per acre, Dr. Bawumia put forth importing successful agricultural practices from these countries to Ghana.

He affirmed, “We will introduce proven methods from Brazil and China to our farmers in Wa East District to boost productivity.”

Dr. Bawumia again revealed strategies to inaugurate “super aggregators” who will enable direct purchases from growers, guaranteeing fair prices and minimizing post-harvest losses.

Recognizing the potential of lime fertilizers to improve soil fertility, Dr. Bawumia brought out Ghana’s abundant lime deposits and professed approval for farmers to adopt this recourse.

“I am committed to supporting our farmers. We will provide tractors and credit facilities for harvesting operations. Shifting from traditional fertilizers to lime will significantly enrich our soil,” Dr. Bawumia confirmed.

The ambitions declared openly by Dr. Bawumia emphasized the NPP’s procedure to enrich agrarian productivity and lower food prices, striving to maintain Ghana’s farming sector and clean up livelihoods across rural neighborhoods.
