NEW AFRICA DAILY NEWS (NADN) Freetown, Sierra Leone– Honestly, these nominations cuts across diverse aspects of airline service, encircling Africa’s Leading Airline, Africa’s Leading Airline in Business and Economy Class, Africa’s Leading Airline Brand, and Africa’s Leading Inflight Magazine for Msafiri. The voting stop for these awards is poised to end on September 8th, 2024. The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, for a quite while, been honored as the apex of excellence in the Travel and Tourism Industry. The awards process unravels through a sets of regional gala ceremonies held across the world, acknowledging and celebrating outstanding achievements in different sectors of the industry.

Winners from these regional events proceeds to the Grand Final, where the recipients of the respected World categories are disclosed. The African awards ceremony follows the conclusion of similar events for other regions, incorporating Europe, the Caribbean, Central America, the Middle East, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania. Remarkably, the WTA Asia and Oceania Gala Ceremony is slated to take place in the Philippines in September, noting the first time the country has hosted such an event. The WTA Grand Tour 2024 same includes ceremonies in Berlin, Dubai, Saint Vincent & The Grenadines, and Diani Beach in Kenya. Kenya Airways’ nominations come at a time of a vital economic growth for the airline.

A decade of economic difficulties, KQ has returned to profitability, reporting a net profit of Sh513 million. This u-turn is culminated to the airline’s strategic plan, Project Kifaru, that concentrates on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, financial discipline, innovation, and sustainability. The first half of 2024 saw KQ’s total income heighten by 22% year-over-year to Sh91.49 billion, while operating costs decreased by 22% to Sh90.20 billion, resulting in a 30% increase in operating profit to Sh1.30 billion. The WTA gala ceremonies are overtly known as premier networking events in the travel industry, enticing government officials, industry leaders, and international media.

Winners of these regional ceremonies will progress to the Grand Final scheduled to take place in Madeira, Portugal, later in the year. Kenya Airways has constantly brandished its commitment to excellence in the aviation industry, earning recognition for its efforts in customer service, operational efficiency, and innovation.
