Malians took to the Streets of Bamako

NEW AFRICA DAILY NEWS, Banjul, The Gambia- Thousands of people have taken to the streets in Mali’s capital BAMAKO demanding an end to attacks and massacre in the North and central part of the country where an increase in ethnic violence has escalated over the period.
According to police reports the demonstration attracts more than three thousand participants attending the peaceful rally in the capital Bamako displaying placards calling for peace in Mali’s volatile region of the North.
However, ethnic tension have taken a central stage since the emergence of armed factions in the country in 2015 from among the two main rival groups of Fulani herds men and the Dogon farmers both of whom have already formed their own self defense or groups to fortify themselves from terrorists .
The demonstration was organized by Youth groups calling for an end of the massacre in the North and Central Mali and by also disarming militia’s activities.
Mali over the years experienced several mass killings most especially in recent months were more than four hundred Fulani herds men have been killed in various attacks and location.
The president of Mali IBRAHIN BABOUCARR KEITA has redeployed the country former interim president DIOCOUNDA TRAORE as High Representative for the Region. Mean while, most people who fled away from the recent violence are reporting back to their various communities.
