NEW AFRICA DAILY NEWS (NADN) Freetown, Sierra Leone- The Sierra Leone government has confirmed a commitment between the government of Sierra Leone and a Turkish company – Karadeniz Power ship Kaya Bey firm, that is presently delivering electricity in various countries in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Cuba. Nevertheless, In West Africa, Karadeniz is existing in neighboring French West Africa – Guinea, the Gambia, Senegal, Ghana, and Guinea Bissau. It’s not detailed whether a pact has been ratified with the Liberian parliament, but serious negotiations were ongoing two years ago.

In addition, Karadeniz Power ship delivers electricity to deprived nations through gigantic generators or plants hoisted on wafting watercrafts through the local electricity suppliers. In Sierra Leone, this is done through the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA). Few of lawmakers, were sobbing about electricity tolls in Sierra Leone but if one could evaluate the price of the Leone vis a vis the US dollars which is the conventional currency for international traffic, the cost for electricity in Sierreone should be one of the meager in the earth.

The matter-of-fact for government, has prevailed to deliver endurable electricity for the whole country but that will take some time not only for Sierra Leone but for the whole of the West African sub-region and beyond as populations grow and urban settlements expand.

The deal with Karadeniz is for five years and certainly by the verge of those five years, other advents of electricity like the forthcoming West African Power pool, Solar Energy and Bumbuna would be competent to aid sierra Leone in a substantial route. The significance of electricity can never be underplayed especially in the current digital age where almost any activity or business enterprise banks on electricity. With sufficient electricity, most people would be able to earn a living without government backing.

The dry season and Christmas are coming in Sierra Leone. Every Sierra Leonean will accordingly buck up to the government for the much-needed electricity for enterprise and festivity, now that the Novel Coronavirus has almost faded away in the country.
