NEW AFRICA DAILY NEWS (NADN) Freetown, Sierra Leone– Dr. Amina Zawedde – the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of ICT divulged government is working hard to assure that the internet tariffs are made reasonable for all Ugandans for them to access the internet and thwart the alarming digital illiteracy levels in Uganda.

In an announcement by Enid Edroma – the General Manager of Corporate Affairs at MTN Uganda, it’s only an improvement in internet users that will drive down the price of the internet in the nation.

Presently, Uganda’s internet penetration sits at merely 29.4% correlated to Tanzania’s 38% and Kenya’s 53%, according to new insights on mobile internet connectivity in Sub-Saharan Africa. As of January 2023, Morocco had the greatest internet penetration of roughly 88.1%, pursued by Seychelles, with around 82%, and Egypt with nearly 81%.

Thus, revamping Uganda on the Digital Road Map liftoff slated to take place on August 17th, 2023, Dr. Zawedde told as the administration of Uganda glances towards enhancing internet connectivity at its establishments like health, education, and Revenue, outstanding priority must be put on your Youtube eligible to access good services by the use of the internet and in return this will improve the rate of digital literacy and quality of service in the nation.

Nonetheless, the increase of internet bundles and smartphones stay a big challenge to the sediment although there are proposals made to rebrand the National telecommunication company to deliver accessible and quality services to Ugandans.
