NEW AFRICA DAILY NEWS (NADN) Freetown, Sierra Leone–  The report stated Algeria’s financial evolution is backed by the oil and gas, industrial, construction, and services sectors. Career patterns exhibit a motion towards the services sector to the disservice of the agriculture and manufacturing industry, underscores the report, anyhow remarking that the structure of GDP has not fundamentally altered and that the nation should execute further reforms to rev the structural transformation of it’s economy.

“For Algeria, the reform of the global financial architecture is a chance to place itself as a donor country to endorse progress towards the development programs of other African countries” remarked Lassaad Lachaal – the African Development Bank’s Country Manager for Algeria.

The reform of the global financial architecture is an option for Algeria to position itself as a donor country to support the development program of other countries in Africa, states the report. In 2023, Algeria coalesced the group of donors that contributed to the funding cycle of the African Development Fund under AFD-16. Although the country has allotted a budget of $1 billion to finance development projects in Africa, it will still have got to supplementary aids to sponsor actions to protect the climate and drive green-growth initiatives.

In the short term, other financial resources for Algeria’s structural transformation could come from advancement in marshaling domestic funding and amplifying the sustainability of the public finances, emphasizing the document.

The report, which strives to elevate political discussion on macroeconomic performance and options and act as a crucial tool for political decision-makers, governments, and development partners, will be officially introduced to government leaders, the private sector, technical and financial partners, researchers, and academics, as well as the media, in mid September 2024, at the Bank’s local headquarters in Algiers.

The theme of the report is in line with the 2024 report on the African Economic Outlook for the whole continent, entitled: “Driving Africa’s Transformation – The Reform of the Global Financial Architecture”.
