NEW AFRICA DAILY NEWS (NADN) Freetown, Sierra Leone- Communicating at this conference, carried by the UK Department for International Trade, the Minister of Energy, Mining and the Environment of Morocco – Aziz Rabbah illustrated Morocco’s proposal for the improvement of renewable energy by 2030 (52% of electricity mix from renewable energy).

The official’s intervention arrives in perspective of the pioneering and comprehended position that Morocco dabbles today in the area of renewable energy at the regional and international levels, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Environment.

Rabbah brought out the role the UK can influence for the achievement of Morocco’s clean energy transition, illustrating key areas and cooperative actions to be strengthened, in this regard, the statement clarified.

These are developing joint ventures between companies in both countries, capacity building and transfer of innovation findings from research and development, in addition to promoting green growth and eco-innovation.
Similar basis, the event is aimed at as a forum for African energy ministers, key private sector stakeholders and renewable energy corporations in the UK to cooperate on energy goals, share best methods, and seek bilateral opportunities, cities in the renewable energy sector.

This edition focused on how African countries can tap into UK funding, investment, technology, and, subsidies in the renewable energy sector.

African ministers in charge of energy from Mauritania, Egypt, Mozambique, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and, South Africa took part in this event.
