East African Nation of Kenya: Has been appointed as Vice President of the Eastern Africa Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities Executive Committee

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is participating in the meeting. This year’s conference brings in strong alliance with heads of anticorruption agencies from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Djibouti, South Sudan, Burundi and Somalia.
They are holding the conference to discuss the road maps of bolstering regional cooperation in the fight against corruption.
The EACC delegation is led by Director of Field Services and Coordination Jackson Kaunda Mue.
On May 02nd, 2024, MUE made a presentation on coordination, collaboration and cooperation in asset recovery. As a regional model in the recovery of unexplained wealth and corruptly acquired assets, EACC advances to share its experience and best practices with other nations.
In January, Kenya was selected to host a key regional anti-corruption body namely the Centre for Anti-Corruption Studies and Research in Africa.
The body will be set up by the African Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (AAACA).
The resolution of the General Assembly of the AAACA during its extraordinary meeting was held on January 9, 2024. It recognized Kenya’s ventures to multinational and regional legal instruments against corruption by establishing key anti-corruption structures and enlisting critical records in law enforcement, prevention and recovery of corruptly acquired assets.
